That Film Girl, Britt: Established '94.

For as long as I can remember, I've dreamed under a sea of the brightest stars and those dreams have always had a cinematic quality to them. Most of my fondest memories growing up involve a bucket of fresh buttered popcorn, an ice-cold soda pop, and the Mustang Drive-In, where my dreams came to life on the silver screen. The Mustang Drive-In is where we lay our scene: One fateful weekend in May, beneath the brightest stars, I sat on top of my mother's car and witnessed Anakin Skywalker's descent into darkness in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (George Lucas, 2005). I was only 11 years old at the time, but this moment has stayed with me ever since as it was in this moment, I realized film was where my heart would always lead. I've created this blog as an extension of who I am and how I see the world, including my work behind the camera. That Film Girl, Britt may be a persona, but I am a real living, breathing human being who finds the greatest comfort in the fantastical worlds brought to life on the silver screen and it is here, I hope to share those dreams with you!

You’re imperfect, and you’re wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging.
— Brene Brown.

As a little girl, I would hold the VHS tapes of Walt Disney's classics close to my heart and run down hallways imagining myself to be Pocahontas on her way to save John Smith. I drink Starbucks Vanilla Latte's out of Walt Disney World mugs. I listen to Across the Stars, John William's love theme for Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker, on Vinyl. I'm a caricature all my own and I take heart in what I love most in this world. With this blog, I hope to give life to the world of cinema and ignite the passion I've always felt for film in others! If you're reading this, thank you for taking a trip to my little corner of the galaxy.

Now you might be wondering about my unique logo, created by the insanely talented Liana Kangas! I can't quite thank Liana enough for creating this for me as it beats in time with my heart. One day, I hope I'll be able to adequately tell her sincerely how much this means to me. I've been given a second chance to make this blog a reflection of who I am at my core and this logo is only the beginning.

See you at the movies! Britt.
